Our first project in third year started with making photographs, linocut print and a cover illustration for the Letterpress Celebration of the Gathering (a collection of linocut illustrations with typesetting). Gathering Ireland: “In 2013, Ireland is opening its arms to hundreds of friends and family from all over the world, calling them home to gatherings in villages, towns and cities.”
I used papercut technique combined with wooden type pieces for my cover illustration:
My second idea was illustrating a boy, who plays on a guitar which attracts people from all over the world back to Ireland:
Jam Art Factory is an Irish art and design shop who sells some of my works. You can drop in to their shops (Patrick Street or Temple Bar) or take a look online here.
My work was exhibited at the Little Green Street Gallery in Dublin during the Paint it Black exhibition.
During my internship in the National Print Museum, Dublin, I designed a unique handmade book. I set type to accompany the paper-cut illustrations.
I am happy to have had one of my pieces accepted for this years RHA Annual Exhibition.
